The time is still ripe for horses and jockeys to step and earn prestige and prizes for themselves. And we’ll be here to witness it.
Let’s take a look at the remaining horse racing events in 2018.
First up, we have the Breeders Cup. This event will take place on November 2 to 3 at the Churchill Downs track in Kentucky, USA.
The event is officially called the Breeders’ Cup World Championship. It is the official ending of this year’s thoroughbred season. As such, you’ll see some of the best horses and jockeys there. Races include the significant Breeders’ Cup Classic.
The winner of the event will get the winnings of up to $6 million. Horses three years old and above are eligible to join the race which will see them running for one and a quarter mile on a dirt racetrack. This race also signifies the fourth leg of the US Grand Slam event.
Last year’s event was won by Florent Geroux riding on Gun Runner. Gun Runner is currently the winningest horse in the current state of horse racing. Will he be able to retain his title?
Next we have the Melbourne Cup which will be taking place on November 6 in Melbourne, Australia.
This race is important. It is commonly referred to as the race that stops the nation because the whole of Australia stops in awe to watch who wins.
